Canaan Goddess is a solid botanical perfume made from terebinth tree resin, bay laurel, and myrtle.

This is one of my most beloved perfumes. Its scent holds a deep sense of remembrance for me, a fragrance connected to early landscapes and ancestral plant memory.

This solid perfume balm formula brings together three plants that have long accompanied women through moments of transition, prayer, inner gathering, and connection to the land. Together, they speak of three feminine archetypes of strength.

All plants in this plant based solid perfume were harvested and prepared in alignment with their planetary timing, to honor each plant and its unique medicine.

The Plant Medicines Within This Solid Perfume

✺ Terebinth Tree ~ Terebinth resin is the heart and foundation of this perfume. In Hebrew the terebinth tree is called Elah, a word that also carries the meaning goddess.

This name preserves an ancient memory from the Canaanite world, where women gathered beneath the terebinth tree branches to seek strength, guidance, and prayer. The tree is associated with Asherah, mother of all living.

✺ Myrtle ~ Throughout history, myrtle has been used in rituals, religions, and ceremonies, especially in contexts of purification, transition, and renewal. Myrtle appears again and again alongside women in moments of transition, union with the dead at funerals, and union with the living at weddings.

In Roman mythology, myrtle is associated with Venus as a plant of cleansing, reconciliation, and harmony after conflict, often referred to as Venus the Cleanser. Myrtle teaches regulation and wholeness, both physical and emotional, the ability to stay open and connected without losing oneself.

✺ Bay Laurel ~ has been revered as a sacred tree across many cultures. It has long been used in ritual perfume traditions, dream work, and practices of inner orientation and protection.

In Greek mythology, Daphne was a nymph who transformed into a bay laurel tree in order to preserve her essence and autonomy. She chooses what kind of light she will embody in the world. She anchors her identity into form and matter. In response, Apollo crowns the laurel as a symbol of victory and inner authority.

Bay laurel strengthens the core. It protects the inner center and supports clarity, sovereignty, and self definition.

Bay laurel holds the axis of the inner Sun and personal identity.  Myrtle carries the Venusian quality of harmony and connection without loss of independence. Terebinth grounds everything into the ancient warm earth.
